Company Description

Watling Tyre Service Limited is an independent auto centre group with over 55 years of continuous business, serving customers across Kent, Surrey, Sussex, and surrounding areas. The company provides quality brand-name products supported by professional knowledge and skill in tyre servicing and fitting. In addition to tyre services, Watling Tyres offers MOTs and a full range of auto servicing, including exhausts, brakes, wheel alignment, and car batteries across its 15 branches. A mobile tyre service and 24-hour emergency support help commercial, agricultural, and private customers keep their vehicles on the road with reliable, efficient service.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site MOT Tester role based at our Dover branch. The MOT Tester will carry out MOT inspections in accordance with DVSA regulations, accurately record test results, and advise customers on any necessary repairs or maintenance. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

Qualifications

  • Valid MOT Tester qualification (DVSA-approved) and current authorisation to conduct MOT tests.
  • Relevant vehicle technician/mechanic experience, ideally with strong knowledge of exhausts, brakes, tyres, and wheel alignment.
  • Attention to detail and strong observational skills to accurately identify faults and safety issues.
  • Ability to follow DVSA regulations, company procedures, and complete all MOT documentation accurately.
  • Good communication skills to explain findings clearly and professionally to customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to work safely in a busy workshop environment and collaborate effectively within a service team.
  • Basic IT skills for operating MOT testing systems and updating service records.
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to support wider workshop tasks as required.
  • Previous experience in an MOT testing or fast-fit/auto service environment is highly beneficial.
