Adams Morey is looking for an experienced and qualified MOT Tester to join our Van Service Department at our Portsmouth site.
As an MOT Tester, you’ll play an important role in ensuring our customers’ vans and light commercial vehicles are safe, compliant and maintained to the required standards. You’ll carry out MOT tests efficiently and accurately, while working as part of our experienced workshop team.
This is a great opportunity for an MOT Tester looking to join a professional and established commercial vehicle business, with the opportunity to work on a variety of modern vans and light commercial vehicles.
Other duties may be required of the post holder in addition to those listed above and below, to ensure that the requirements of the business are met at all times.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8.00 am to 5.00 pm, i.e. 40 hours per week, 1 hour lunch break (unpaid).
Salary: Dependent on experience, will be discussed at interview stage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out MOT tests on vans and light commercial vehicles in accordance with DVSA standards.
- Completing MOT tests accurately and efficiently.
- Identifying and reporting any defects or issues found during testing.
- Ensuring all MOT documentation and records are completed accurately.
- Carrying out vehicle inspections and safety checks.
- Working closely with the wider workshop team to ensure vehicles are repaired and maintained to the required standard.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Keeping up to date with relevant MOT testing requirements and regulations.
- Providing a professional service to customers and colleagues at all times.

Ideally, we are looking for:
- Valid MOT Tester qualification – Class 4/7 essential 5 preferred, or willing to train for class 5.
- Previous experience as an MOT Tester or Vehicle Technician.
- Good knowledge of MOT testing standards and DVSA requirements.
- Strong mechanical and technical knowledge.
- Experience working with vans or light commercial vehicles is desirable.
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A professional, reliable and flexible approach to work.
- Full UK driving licence.
