Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an MOT Tester based at White Rose Garage in Liss. The MOT Tester will carry out MOT inspections in line with DVSA regulations, accurately recording test results and advising on necessary repairs. Day-to-day tasks include conducting vehicle safety checks, using testing equipment, completing documentation, and maintaining testing bays and tools in safe working order. The role also involves liaising with customers to explain MOT outcomes, working with mechanics to schedule and complete remedial work, and following all health and safety standards. The MOT Tester is expected to support the wider workshop team when needed and contribute to a professional, customer-focused environment.

  • Valid MOT Tester status and current authorization from DVSA, with strong knowledge of MOT standards and procedures.
  • Proven experience in vehicle inspection, diagnostics, and basic mechanical repair within an automotive workshop environment.
  • Ability to follow technical guidelines, complete accurate paperwork, and use MOT testing equipment and related tools safely.
  • Strong attention to detail, commitment to road safety, and a methodical approach to identifying and documenting defects.
  • Effective communication skills to explain findings to customers and collaborate with colleagues in a busy garage setting.
  • Relevant automotive qualifications (e.g., NVQ/City & Guilds in Motor Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent) are highly beneficial.
  • Full UK driving license and a strong record of reliability, punctuality, and professional conduct.
