Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site MOT Tester role. The MOT Tester will carry out MOT inspections in line with DVSA regulations, accurately assess vehicle roadworthiness, and complete all related documentation and certification. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

The MOT Tester is expected to contribute to general workshop activities as needed to support smooth operations.

Qualifications

  • Current DVSA-authorized MOT Tester license and strong knowledge of MOT testing standards and procedures
  • Solid background in vehicle maintenance and repair, with the ability to diagnose faults and assess vehicle condition accurately
  • Strong attention to detail, record-keeping skills, and ability to complete MOT documentation clearly and correctly
  • Good communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in straightforward terms
  • Ability to work safely in a workshop environment, follow health and safety guidelines, and use testing equipment correctly
  • Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a small team
  • Relevant automotive qualifications (e.g., NVQ or equivalent in Motor Vehicle Engineering) are highly beneficial
  • Full UK driving license and experience working in an MOT or vehicle service centre environment preferred
