Job Title
Vehicle MOT tester
The Role
The main purpose of a Vospers MOT Tester is to carry out MOT testing on customer vehicles in accordance with DVSA regulations and company standards, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and a high level of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out MOT tests in line with DVSA requirements, Vospers standards, and legal guidelines.
- Perform duties safely and economically in line with HSE legislation and company Health and Safety procedures.
- Maintain a positive and professional team environment.
- Ensure all MOT equipment and testing facilities are regularly checked and maintained.
- Maintain and develop knowledge of MOT regulations and vehicle safety standards.
- Conduct MOT tests accurately and consistently in line with current DVSA requirements and guidelines.
- Ensure MOT inspections are completed thoroughly, fairly, and without bias, maintaining the integrity of the MOT scheme at all times.
- Accurately record MOT test results, defects, and advisory items on the MOT testing system.
- Identify and categorise vehicle defects correctly in accordance with the MOT testing manual.
- Ensure vehicles are handled with care at all times whilst on the premises.
- Where required, communicate MOT results clearly with Service Advisors, Workshop Controller, or customers to aid understanding and customer satisfaction.
- Road test vehicles when necessary and permitted as part of the MOT process.
- Ensure all paperwork and system entries are completed accurately and promptly

Monday to Friday, with Saturday on a Rota
