I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit

Benefits
- 28 days holiday including bank holiday AND birthday off with pay every year, no one should have to work on their birthday.
- Staff night out/meal every Xmas with bonus.
Requirements
Our ideal candidate will have a green RAG status and be an experienced tester. Ideally hands-on while we build up the work and able/willing to help with repairs.
Genuinely once the centre is established I see the testers purely testing, there will be that much work...
Compensation
- £40k per annum starting salary.
- We have pay reviews every year. To date I've never held wages the same, if I'm making more, the staff will.
Company Policy
- We won't be taking on any heavy engine work that's going to tie ramps up for days, send you down rabbit holes and make the garage look a mess..
- Have a look at the reviews for the established business Stone tyres, the constant theme is trust.
- We never rip people off or look for work that isn't there. This will be exactly the same. The testers will not be interfered with to boost work.
- You worked hard to get your license, a boss shouldn't dictate how you work and risk it..
