About The Role

The Motion Designer & Editor role at DFS Furniture Ltd is a vital creative position responsible for producing engaging and high-quality video content across all digital channels and in-store displays. This role involves conceptualizing, designing, and editing motion graphics, animations, and videos that align with brand guidelines and marketing objectives. Working within the Design & Production team, the successful candidate will support the delivery of integrated marketing campaigns by preparing and refining creative assets suitable for various media platforms. The role requires a keen eye for detail, technical proficiency, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines. The Motion Designer & Editor will collaborate closely with creative, marketing, and other cross-functional teams to ensure that all visual content is compelling, consistent, and optimized for its target audience. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute creatively to a well-established retail organization, helping to shape visual storytelling that resonates with our customers and elevates our brand presence.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess a minimum of three years of experience in a video creative role, preferably within the retail sector. A relevant degree in Videography, Animation, Creative Arts, or a related field is required. Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, and DaVinci Resolve is essential. A strong portfolio showcasing previous work, including animations, motion graphics, and video edits, is mandatory for application. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of imagery, composition, and design principles, along with a creative flair for video production. Up-to-date knowledge of current editing trends, sound design, social media best practices, and motion graphics techniques is highly valued. Excellent communication skills, the ability to receive and incorporate constructive feedback, and a highly organized, self-motivated approach are key attributes for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Create engaging motion graphics, animations, and video content tailored for social media, websites, digital campaigns, and in-store displays.
  • Collaborate with the Creative team to develop and bring creative concepts to life, ensuring alignment with brand standards and campaign objectives.
  • Produce high-quality edits and animations using Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and other relevant software.
  • Manage projects from initial media ingestion through to final delivery, maintaining organized workflows and ensuring assets are production-ready.
  • Interpret creative briefs accurately and apply brand guidelines to deliver visually compelling content that meets business needs.
  • Work closely with various teams—including Design & Production, Marketing, and People—to develop assets that support marketing campaigns and brand initiatives.
  • Optimize all content for its intended platform, ensuring technical specifications are met and content performs effectively across channels.
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and attention to detail.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends in motion design, editing, sound design, and social media to continually enhance creative output.
  • Contribute innovative ideas and support the development of fresh visual content to engage and grow our audience.
