Job Title: Motor Vehicle Technician
Location: Chelmsford, CM1
Salary: Between £30,000-£40,000 – depending on qualifications and experience + excellent bonus opportunities
Employment Type: Full Time and Permanent – Monday to Friday and Rota for Saturday Mornings
About the Company
Our client is one of the UK’s leading independent premium car dealerships. Their brand-new, state-of-the-art workshop is designed for excellence, providing ample opportunities for career advancement.
They are looking to add to their Technician team for their workshop. They are happy to consider:
- PDI Technicians
- Level 2 Vehicle Technicians
- Level 3 Vehicle Technicians
- Senior / Diagnostic Technicians
Role Overview
As a Vehicle Technician, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring our clients luxury vehicles meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance. You'll conduct mechanical assessments, diagnose faults, and carry out repairs in line with Manufacturer Standards and our client internal protocols. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive mechanical assessments on a diverse range of vehicles.
- Identify and report visual defects and abnormal driving behaviours.
- Perform high-quality repairs to ensure vehicles are retail-ready.
- Install accessories and components as specified by the sales team.
- Maintain detailed records of all work performed and parts used for warranty compliance.
- Utilise diagnostic tools to accurately diagnose faults and recommend effective repair solutions.
- Ensure workshop equipment is well-maintained by following maintenance schedules and promptly reporting any issues.
- Keep the workshop tidy and organised to uphold a safe working environment.
- Deliver all work to the highest standards to ensure customer satisfaction and minimise return repairs.

What our client is Looking For:
- Ideally hold an NVQ Level 3 in motor vehicle repair or NVQ Level 2 qualification.
- Previous experience in a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic role.
- Strong knowledge of diagnostic tools and familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Understanding of Manufacturer Standards related to vehicle servicing and repairs.
- A full, clean UK driving licence is required.
