Location: Newcastle

Salary: A GBP 36,363 to A GBP 39,862 per annum (Pay award pending)

Vacancy Type: Permanent, Full Time (37 hours per week)

Newcastle City Council (City Transport) are seeking an experienced time served motor vehicle technician to take up a permanent position.

City Transport maintains and repairs a diverse range of vehicles, plant, and horticultural equipment as well as having two MOT stations, testing class 4, 5, and 7 vehicles and Licenced Taxis and hackney carriages.

Will you be the successful candidate to join the team, primarily in our Heavy Goods vehicle workshop at Newington Road.

We are looking for someone full time with the skills and experience to achieve the effective and efficient maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of the councils Heavy Goods Vehicle fleet 3.5t and upwards.

You will have served a recognised apprenticeship in motor vehicle engineering to NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification and experience in HGV service inspections and MOT preparation.

A category B driving licence is essential with categories D1 or C licence being advantageous.
