About the Role

Spyder Motorcycles is expanding and requires an experienced motorcycle technician to work full-time within our family-run business at Silverstone Circuit. The ideal candidate should have at least two years’ experience and will work alongside our workshop team preparing and maintaining contracted motorcycle bikes for multiple brands. Spyder Motorcycles also runs a mobile service unit and the successful applicant would be expected to work offsite when work dictates.

Day to Day Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the workshop manager in the day-to-day running of the workshop.
  • Undertake motorcycle maintenance, including service work, damage repair, diagnostics, and tyre changes.
  • Prepare motorcycles for the press, completing safety checks, cleaning, checking the vehicle levels, tyre pressures, and electric functions, etc.
  • Vehicle cleaning and valeting.
  • Van delivery/pick up of motorcycles where required, loading and unloading of vans.
  • Fitting of accessories.
  • Performing motorbike handovers to customers, explaining functions, pointing out and recording damage, etc.
  • Updating service records.
  • Keep the workshop area and equipment clean, tidy, and serviceable.
  • Work within a small, dedicated team providing a high level of customer service.
  • Technical help with motorcycle event support, set up, and breakdown (some of which will be outside of the usual office hours).

Although a full-time Monday to Friday role, flexibility and weekend work will also be required during the motorcycle season for events and during busy times.

About the Company

Spyder Motorcycles provides services within the motorcycle industry and currently manages the Piaggio Group (Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, Vespa, and Piaggio) and Royal Enfield press fleets. Spyder Motorcycles also provides event support. Work often changes last minute so you will need to be happy with amendments and able to reprioritise the workshop schedule.

Requirements

  • A full clean driving licence and ideally a full motorcycle licence.
  • Friendly, enthusiastic, punctual, reliable, honest, and a genuine team player.
  • A good basic technical understanding of motorcycles with the right attitude to progression and learning new skills.
  • At least two years’ experience in a similar role and/or be experienced to an NVQ Level 3 relevant to motorcycle maintenance.
  • Prepared to undergo manufacturer training where required.
  • Basic security check due to delivering to customers under 18.
