Requirements
Ready to step into the engine room as a dedicated Motorman? Here is what you need to bring on board to thrive in this role and grow your maritime career.
- Maintaining and monitoring engine room machinery and auxiliary systems during watchkeeping duties.
- Executing routine maintenance, greasing moving parts, and assisting smoothly during bunkering operations.
- Troubleshooting mechanical snags and keeping the workspace shipshape and safe.
- Holding valid STCW VI/1 Basic Safety Training (incorporating Fire Prevention, Personal Survival, Elementary First Aid, and Social Responsibilities), plus STCW VI/2 Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats and STCW VI/6 Security Awareness.
- Possessing an STCW I/9 Medical Seafarer MLC and an STCW III/5 Certificate of Competency (CoC) as a Q Rating forming part of an Engineering Watch.
