Sessional Movement & Physical Activity Coach – Weight Management Programme

Location: North Ceredigion, Wales (Aberystwyth and surrounding area)

Pay: £35–£55 per session (dependent on experience)

Sessional / Freelance – flexible hours

Primary Care Dietitians (PCD) is looking for a Level 3 qualified, CIMSPA-registered fitness professional to deliver group movement sessions as part of a new NHS-commissioned weight management programme across North Ceredigion.

This is a sessional role delivering 2-hour group sessions to adults living with obesity, helping them build confidence, strength, and sustainable activity habits. We take a compassionate, weight-neutral approach — no judgement, no quick fixes, just supportive, adaptable coaching.

What you'll be doing:

  • Delivering in-person and virtual group movement sessions across Borth, Aberystwyth, Aberaeron, Llanilar, Tregaron, and surrounding areas
  • Adapting sessions to suit a range of health needs and abilities
  • Building positive relationships with participants and referral partners
  • Recording participant data and completing risk assessments
  • Optionally creating video/podcast content for additional payment

What we're looking for:

  • Level 3 Physical Activity qualification (essential)
  • CIMSPA registration or equivalent (desirable)
  • Experience delivering movement/exercise to adults living with obesity
  • Confidence running dynamic risk assessments
  • Comfortable using virtual delivery platforms (e.g. Zoom)
  • Welsh speaker (desirable, not essential)
  • A friendly, non-judgemental, adaptable approach
