About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic trainer to join our team. You will work with the Moving and Handling Manager and the team of Advisors and Trainers to provide and coordinate training and support for Moving and Handling across NHS Highland. You will deliver high-quality Moving and Handling training to staff and provide onsite coaching, support, and competency assessment in clinical and non-clinical settings. This role is key to ensuring safe, effective, and person-centred moving and handling practice across our diverse workforce.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
- Degree in a health or social care discipline or equivalent relevant qualifications
- Experience working in a health or social care setting
- Experience delivering training or education
- Strong communication and facilitation skills
- The ability to adapt training to diverse staff groups
- Good understanding of moving and handling principles and legislation
- Ability to demonstrate safe techniques and handle training equipment
- Ability to travel throughout NHS Highland
You will be part of a supportive, proactive team committed to improving staff safety and wellbeing across NHS Highland, with opportunities for professional development and ongoing training.
Additional Information
A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.

Additional Information For Candidates
Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part-time hours will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure that pay remains unaffected.
