Salary
Indicative Band 3 - £29,103 to £31,409 per annum
Plus £1,461 Distant Islands Allowance per annum
Hours
36 hours per week

About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated, dedicated and enthusiastic Administrator to work in our brand new MRI Unit. The successful applicant will oversee the administration of the service, working with the dedicated Healthcare Assistants and Radiographers, and will be responsible to the Radiology Administration Team Lead and to the Lead MRI Radiographer. There will be occasional rotation through the main Radiology Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide general administrative, clerical and secretarial support to the MRI service specifically and the Radiology Department generally.
- Training for Radiology specific systems will be provided: Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving Communications System (PACS).
- It is essential that the candidate has awareness of MRI Safety, although training for this will also be provided.
- Imaging is undertaken for a range of specialities – Respiratory, Oncology, Urology, Vascular, Orthopaedic, Gynaecology, Paediatrics etc.

Requirements
- Experience working in administration/busy office environment
- Computer literate
- Experience working in a Healthcare setting
- Proficient in use of software systems
- Keyboard skills
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work on own initiative and be self-motivated and exercise sound judgement on own initiative
- Awareness of confidentiality issues
- Relevant practical experience
- Good understanding of the structure and purpose of the organisation and its divisions and departments
- Comfortable with a diverse workload
- Team worker
- Ability to follow instructions and a willingness to learn
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Location
The post will be based at the Western Isles Hospital.
