As an MRO Delivery Manager, you’ll play a key leadership role in the successful delivery of multiple aircraft maintenance programmes, ensuring activities are planned and delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality, cost and schedule. You’ll lead teams and resources across concurrent MRO activities, driving productivity and continuous improvement while creating a positive culture focused on strong communication, collaboration and high performance.

Accountability

For assigned hangar/areas and aircraft inputs/MRO activities:

  • Accountable for the safe and efficient delivery of assigned aircraft to agreed schedule through allocated teams, within QSCPD targets.
  • Work with Head of MRO Delivery and other MRO Delivery Managers to drive hangar productivity, to maximise cost performance within a maintenance environment.
  • Coordinate up to 5 C-130 maintenance teams delivering heavy maintenance.
  • Allocate assigned resource to maintain schedule adherence, maximising flexibility within the team and supporting other MRO Delivery Managers where necessary.
  • Develop and implement effective KPIs at a hangar level to demonstrate QSCPD.
  • Lead the assigned integrated project team to maximise utilisation of all resources to support the hangar aircraft teams’ QSCPD targets.
  • Leading role in developing and engaging teams in value-adding CI initiatives.
  • Deliver husbandry of hangar facility ensuring that all procedural requirements are met (e.g. bay audits).

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of MRO Delivery generally and specifically:
  • Role model a Just culture and ensure adherence to airworthiness requirements, safe systems of work, and risk assessments, reducing incidents/events.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating Marshall values in all relationships.
  • Develop, engage and motivate their team to achieve improvements across QSCPD targets.
  • Manage individuals within the Marshall policies and procedures as required.
  • Communicate openly and drive transparency, standardisation, personal accountability, and recognition.
  • Maximise value-added activity and reduce or eliminate waste to improve cost performance.
  • Develop teams’ system (including IFS & Power BI) knowledge and usage.
  • Ownership of events and NC’s relating to maintenance activity in AOR.

Tasks:

  • Balance and communicate priorities across teams.
  • Report on aircraft status at escalation meetings and other forums.
  • Investigate incidents/events to ensure root cause analysis is completed and mitigate future re-occurrence.
  • Support pre-input planning process to ensure deliverable, planned inputs are agreed.
  • Drive delivery of schedule for maintenance identifying recovery actions to return to plan when schedule adherence is threatened.

Capability

Behavioural Competencies:

  • High energy individual, with ability to self-motivate and motivate a team towards a solution-oriented accountability culture.
  • Confident and diplomatic with the ability to create, influence and foster working relationships internally and with customers at all levels of the business.
  • Fully competent communicator (verbal & written briefs/reports/presentations) both internally and externally to management, customer, and suppliers.
  • Self-motivated, creative with the ability to produce accurate work under pressure while continuing to meet deadlines.
  • Confident team manager with the ability to manage and develop people.

Technical Competencies:

  • Operational leadership experience, preferably within an Aerospace environment.
  • Risk and safety management.
  • Commercial acumen.
  • Technical problem solving.
  • Understanding of lean principles and continuous improvement, and their deployment.
  • PC literate, able to manipulate data, prepare and communicate reports.

Education:

  • Degree or equivalent experience essential.
  • NEBOSH/IOSH qualification desirable.
  • EASA B Licence Holder or equivalent as required to hold C Release approval desirable.

Experience:

  • Proven operational leadership experience managing multiple teams.
  • Proven change management experience.
  • Experience of implementing Continuous Improvement/Lean.
  • Experience/knowledge of Aerospace MRO environment and regulations.
  • Ability to lead, train, coach, mentor employees on a personal level.
  • Experience of working with ERP/EWS systems.
