Our Client

Our Client is an International Bank with offices in Canary Wharf London.

They are now looking to recruit a Senior MS SQL Server DBA with at least 5 years expertise.

Although the role is for a Senior MS SQL Server DBA – the Client would like you to have a background in Data Warehousing.

As MS SQL Server DBA with Application Support you will be involved with developing and implementing solutions for the banks financial systems.

As an MS SQL Server DBA role will involve the following:

  • Ensure the integrity, security and accuracy of production database environment, ensuring good performance of the dependent applications.
  • Plan and implement operating procedures for backup of database and recovery of database information.
  • Develops database-related application development standards covering database creation, software placement, storage and auditing.
  • Ensures the integrity of the recovery system at all times. Initiates formal testing of the recovery system.
  • Develops database procedures as necessary to enhance the application suite as required.
  • Responds to, resolves and documents support calls for the production and test applications.
  • Maintains to a high standard documentation supporting the build, maintenance and operational procedures of the database environment.
  • Acts as the technical liaison between database operations and vendor support.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

You must have at least 5 to 7 years solid expertise as a MS SQL Server DBA – Database Administrator.

  • Must have the Microsoft SQL Server Administration (Enterprise Edition) experience.
  • High Level T-SQL programming (SP, Functions, Triggers).
  • Operation, design and implementation experience of Mirroring, Log Shipping and SQL Server Replication.
  • SQL Reporting services and Analysis services maintenance and tuning.
  • Configuration and operation of clustered database Servers using external storage.
  • Scripting stored procedures.
  • Security concepts of database management.
  • Change management concepts and application

The role

The role will be to work as a MS SQL DBA with an element of supporting financial applications.

Salary

Salary for this role is negotiable - but is expected to be in the range £55K - £70K + benefits.
