Job Overview
This vacancy is for a permanent contract, Band 6 musculoskeletal physiotherapist working in Wrexham. You will have responsibility for supervising junior members of staff and students on placement.
You will join a large supportive innovative team.
The physiotherapy service in BCUHB offers a whole career pathway to Band 8A as a clinical advanced practitioner. Service improvement and development is encouraged and all staff have access to regular supervision, mentorship, and training.
This is an opportunity to work in a large established and supportive team in a beautiful part of the UK.

Main Duties of the Job
- Carry out physiotherapy assessments and treatments; developing individualized therapeutic treatment programmes for a specialized caseload in the relevant clinical area. Patients may include those with physical and psychological problems in the area of speciality; some of whom may have a level of complexity. Team leader; clinical specialist or advanced practitioners are available for clinical and managerial support.
- Ensure a high standard of care for each patient working with patients, families or carers, multi-agency teams, and disciplines involved.
- Communicate with these patients, carers, agencies, and other disciplines in an appropriate manner, often with sensitive information, diagnoses, or outcomes.
- Supervise, teach, and appraise peers, physiotherapists, physiotherapy assistants, technical instructors, students, and other members of the multidisciplinary or multiagency teams.
- Train and supervise patients, families, or carers and staff from other disciplines or agencies to carry out programmes of care devised by the therapist.
- Deputise and support the Clinical Team Leader as required in the daily management of the designated team.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy
- HCPC registration
- Evidence of CPD in Physiotherapy in the form of a detailed personal development portfolio
- Postgraduate training courses
Desirable criteria
- Membership of appropriate professional post-graduate training body
- Relevant Special/Clinical interest group membership
- Clinical educators course
- Bronze IQT or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant Post Registration Experience
- Evidence of core rotations
- Experience of working in an NHS environment as physiotherapist and MDT/ multi-agency working where relevant
Desirable criteria
- Experience of contribution to CNG or working parties
- Experience in the relevant speciality
