Sales Executive – Managed IT Services
Location: Reading – Hybrid (Occasional travel to client site required)
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 DOE + Uncapped Commission
We are partnering with an established Managed Service Provider in search of a Sales Executive to support the continued growth of their Managed IT Services offering.
This opportunity is ideal for a commercially driven sales professional with experience working within an MSP or IT services environment and a proven ability to generate new business.
The successful individual will be responsible for identifying and securing new clients, building a consistent and qualified sales pipeline and developing long-term customer relationships. You will work closely with prospective customers to understand their IT support requirements and position appropriate managed service solutions.
The role will focus on selling ongoing IT support and managed services, which could include outsourced IT support, Service Desk solutions, onsite support, out-of-hours support and wider managed IT services.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Generate new business opportunities through outbound sales activity, targeted campaigns, networking and partner engagement
- Identify and engage with key decision-makers responsible for IT services, infrastructure, operations and technology
- Build, manage and maintain a strong and qualified sales pipeline
- Understand prospective customers' existing IT environments, support models and business challenges
- Position appropriate managed service solutions based on customer requirements
- Take ownership of the full sales lifecycle from initial engagement and discovery through to proposal, negotiation and close
- Drive new logo acquisition and contribute towards the continued growth of the managed services business

Account Management
- Develop and strengthen existing customer relationships, identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling
- Build trusted, long-term relationships with customers
- Understand changing customer requirements and identify opportunities to introduce additional managed services
- Conduct regular customer reviews to support account growth and retention
- Collaborate closely with technical, service delivery and operational teams to ensure a smooth transition from sale through to service delivery
- Identify additional commercial opportunities within existing accounts
Additional Responsibilities
- Forecast against sales targets and provide regular progress reporting
- Maintain accurate customer, opportunity and pipeline information within CRM systems
- Utilise market knowledge and competitor insight to support the company's positioning within the managed services market
- Develop relationships with senior stakeholders and IT decision-makers
- Work collaboratively with technical and service teams when developing customer solutions and proposals
Experience & Skills Required
- Proven B2B sales experience within an MSP, Managed Services or IT Services environment
- Good understanding of Managed IT Services and outsourced IT support models
- Minimum of 3 years' successful B2B sales experience
- Demonstrated success in new business generation and developing a qualified sales pipeline
- Experience managing the full sales lifecycle from prospecting through to close
- Experience developing and growing existing customer accounts
- Strong commercial awareness, negotiation and relationship management skills
- Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and IT decision-makers
- Ability to understand customer challenges and translate these into appropriate managed service solutions
- Self-motivated, accountable and target-driven approach

Desirable
- Experience selling services such as Managed Service Desk, outsourced IT support, infrastructure support, onsite IT services or out-of-hours support
- Experience selling recurring or contracted managed services
- Understanding of SLAs and service-based IT support environments
- Experience working alongside technical, solutions or service delivery teams during the sales process
