MuleSoft Developer
We are looking for a skilled MuleSoft Developer to join CGI, where you'll play a pivotal role in delivering secure, scalable integration solutions that help our clients transform how their organisations connect, operate and innovate. Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position, requiring 2–3 days per week onsite in Belfast.
Candidate Profile
In this role, you will design, develop, and support enterprise-grade MuleSoft integrations that enable secure, reliable communication between Salesforce and a range of business-critical platforms. Working alongside architects, engineers, business stakeholders, and external partners, you'll translate solution designs into scalable integration services that align with enterprise architecture standards while ensuring high performance, resilience, and security.

You'll take ownership of integration delivery throughout the development lifecycle, contributing to technical discussions, improving development standards, and helping deliver innovative solutions that create lasting value for our clients. Supported by an experienced team, you'll continuously develop your expertise while playing a key role in delivering high-quality integration capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver secure MuleSoft APIs, connectors, and integration flows.
- Build DataWeave transformations for XML and JSON data.
- Collaborate with architects, Salesforce developers, business analysts, and integration partners to deliver effective solutions.
- Troubleshoot, test, and enhance integrations to maximize performance, resilience, and reliability.
- Implement security best practices including OAuth 2.0, JWT, TLS, API gateways, and WS-Security.
- Design robust error handling, retries, message correlation, and reliable processing patterns.
- Develop and maintain automated unit tests using MUnit and support system, integration, and regression testing.
- Conduct code reviews and produce technical documentation.
- Support controlled build, deployment, and defect resolution across development, test, and pre-production environments.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by applying MuleSoft and Salesforce best practices aligned with enterprise architecture standards.

To succeed in this role, you'll bring proven experience delivering enterprise integrations using MuleSoft together with strong API development expertise and an understanding of Salesforce integration patterns. You'll be comfortable working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and delivering secure, scalable solutions in line with architectural standards.
Essential Qualifications
- Proven commercial experience developing with MuleSoft 4 and DataWeave.
- Strong experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including Anypoint Studio, API Manager, and Anypoint Exchange.
- Experience deploying MuleSoft applications to CloudHub 2.0 or equivalent runtime environments.
- Strong knowledge of REST/JSON, SOAP/XML, XSD, WSDL, and data transformation techniques.
- Experience implementing Salesforce integration patterns and API contracts.
- Experience with synchronous and asynchronous integration patterns, including retries, idempotency, message correlation, and error handling.
- Experience developing automated tests using MUnit.
- Strong understanding of integration security including OAuth 2.0, JWT, TLS, API gateways, and WS-Security.
- Experience using Git, Maven, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to interpret solution designs, API specifications, schemas, and data mappings.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.
Desirable
- MuleSoft Developer Certification.
- Salesforce certification or Salesforce integration experience.
- Experience with enterprise integration architecture and messaging patterns.
- Experience modernising legacy SOAP/XML integrations.
- Working knowledge of Java.
- Experience integrating MuleSoft with AWS-hosted services or data platforms.
