Are you looking for a rewarding role within an intersectional feminist organisation?

We have an incredible opportunity for a Multiple Disadvantage Refuge Worker to join Solace Women’s Aid.

Solace exists to end the harm done through gender-based violence. We work to prevent violence and abuse and provide services to meet the individual needs of survivors, particularly women and children.

Our core values reflect our history and were developed in consultation with staff and service users. Feminism and intersectionality are key to our work, and we are committed to the principles of being survivor-led, trauma-informed, empowering, diverse, anti-racist and anti-discriminatory.

About The Service

Our Haringey service supports women facing multiple disadvantages and intersectional challenges, including homelessness, substance misuse, contact with the criminal justice system and mental ill health. These women can fall through the gaps between services and systems, making it harder for them to address their challenges and lead fulfilling lives. Our goals are to support clients with multiple and complex needs, recognising the emotional and compound trauma that can accompany and, in many cases, precede homelessness, and to co-produce, co-ordinate and deliver support.

About The Role

Our Multiple Disadvantage Refuge Workers provide specialist, trauma-informed and survivor-led support to women experiencing domestic abuse alongside multiple and complex needs. You will work with women to reduce risk, increase safety and support them towards greater independence and sustainable move-on from refuge. You will also be required to support the duty line to meet service demands.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
