Job Title: Driver

Location: Birmingham CLC

Summary of Role

We are looking for a reliable and customer-focused Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely collection and delivery of products, materials, and medical samples, ensuring compliance with company procedures and transport regulations. You will play a key part in maintaining service excellence, supporting operational efficiency, and ensuring shipments reach their destination securely and on schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Complete scheduled collections and deliveries in line with assigned routes and service requirements.
  • Verify shipment details and ensure all documentation is completed accurately.
  • Obtain signatures and proof of delivery, maintaining accurate transport records.
  • Transport products, materials, and medical samples in compliance with relevant regulations and company procedures.
  • Communicate delivery updates, delays, and shipment issues promptly to the appropriate teams.
  • Support loading, unloading, packaging, and labelling activities to ensure shipment readiness.
  • Monitor vehicle condition and report maintenance requirements promptly.
  • Assist with specialised transport activities, including airport transfers, hand-to-hand deliveries, and adjusted schedule assignments as required.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Full valid driving licence with a safe driving record.
  • Previous experience in a delivery, transport, or logistics environment.
  • Strong understanding of transport and road safety regulations.
  • Ability to accurately complete delivery documentation and records.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage delivery schedules effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative when resolving issues.
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high service standards.

Desirable

  • Experience transporting healthcare, pharmaceutical, or medical products.
  • Knowledge of temperature-controlled transportation procedures.
  • Familiarity with electronic proof of delivery systems.
  • Experience working within a regulated distribution environment.
  • Basic vehicle maintenance awareness.
  • Knowledge of route planning and optimisation.
  • Experience handling time-critical deliveries.
  • Forklift or manual handling certification.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.
  • Less than 2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, courier operations, delivery services, or a related field required.
  • Certification in dangerous goods awareness, licensure in operation of the applicable vehicle class, cold chain handling, or equivalent required.
