The Opportunity
This is an exciting time to join MandM as we operate at the cutting edge of new technologies in the design and video space. We are looking for a Multi-Media Designer to join our Buying - Creative department on a 1-year maternity cover contract. The Role Scope
To craft dynamic, customer-first multimedia content for MandM across all marketing channels, utilising your design skills alongside AI innovation to create highly engaging designs, graphics, imagery, animation, and video.
Role key responsibilities:
Digital Design & Campaign Delivery
- Work on project sprints to design web and email communications for seasonal campaigns, transactional marketing, and everyday customer touchpoints.
- Collaborate via internal workflow systems with channel teams to produce and resize imagery for homepages, social media, and digital banners.
- Deliver high-quality print design assets when required, including catalogue artwork and PR collateral.
Video, Motion & AI Innovation
- Utilise advanced AI tools to create product editorials, short-form video assets, and innovative creative edits.
- Produce basic motion graphics and dynamic text overlays to elevate video content across channels.
- Meticulously handle multi-market video exports, ensuring localised text, subtitles, and aspect ratios (16:9, 9:16, 1:1) are accurate.
Creative Concepting & Process Improvement
- Brainstorm, concept, and present creative ideas, project work, and learnings directly to senior stakeholders and Heads of Department.
- Participate in quarterly design reviews and monthly workflow meetings to ensure visual consistency and ongoing process optimisation.
- Maintain clear project housekeeping across servers, drives, and compositions (such as After Effects files) for seamless team handoffs.

About You
What We’re Looking For
- Experience & Education: A Degree or Diploma in design (or a related creative area), OR demonstrable experience working within a commercial design environment.
- Software Proficiency: Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud—specifically Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Pace & Organisation: Strong organisational and time management skills, with the proven ability to handle timelines across multiple projects in a fast-moving retail environment.
- Generative AI Interest (Desirable): A genuine interest in generative AI tools with an eagerness to learn Google's AI suite (Google Veo and Nano Banana), or prior experience with AI-driven image/video editing platforms.
- Technical Knowledge: Sound knowledge of Windows operating systems (as the role is Windows-based) and literacy in web design fundamentals.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative mindset to work effectively alongside technical, creative, channel, and studio teams.
