Role Description
The Multi-Modal Freight Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in Cardiff, responsible for coordinating and managing shipments across multiple transport modes including road, air, and ocean. This role involves:

- Arranging bookings with carriers
- Preparing and verifying documentation
- Monitoring cargo movements
- Ensuring timely delivery in line with customer requirements and service standards

The Multi-Modal Freight Operator will liaise daily with customers, carriers, and internal departments to provide updates, resolve issues, and optimize routing and cost efficiency. The role includes:
- Data entry and maintenance in logistics systems
- Handling customs-related information
- Supporting billing and cost control activities
The individual will also contribute to continuous process improvement, adherence to compliance and safety regulations, and maintaining strong customer service standards.
Qualifications
- Experience in freight forwarding or logistics operations, ideally in multimodal transport (road, air, ocean).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines.
- Proficiency with logistics, transport management, or ERP systems, and confident use of MS Office tools.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with customers, carriers, and colleagues.
- Solid understanding of shipping documentation, incoterms, and basic customs and compliance requirements.
- Customer-focused approach, problem-solving mindset, and attention to detail in data and documentation.
- Ability to work on-site in Cardiff, collaborate within a team, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant vocational training or education in logistics, supply chain, or a related field is beneficial; prior experience in an international logistics company is an advantage.
