Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Multi-Skilled Driver / Warehouse Operator role based in Letchworth Garden City. The Multi-Skilled Driver and Warehouse Operator plays a dual role critical to our IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) business. You will be responsible for the secure collection and transportation of retired IT assets (such as laptops, servers, desktops, and hard drives) from corporate client sites, as well as the safe handling, inventory logging, and processing of those assets within our secure facility. This position requires maintaining a strict chain of custody, ensuring high security, and complying with data protection and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Driving & Field Collections (Chain of Custody)
- Secure Logistics: Transport high-value, data-bearing corporate IT assets safely from client locations back to the ITAD facility using company vehicles (typically up to 3.5t Luton vans).
- Client Interface: Act as the professional face of the company during site collections, verifying asset counts against collection notes alongside the customer.
- Chain of Custody Management: Ensure all security protocols are followed, including locking vehicles during transit, monitoring secure asset bins, and completing clear transfer paperwork.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle safety inspections, reporting any defects immediately, and maintaining vehicle cleanliness.

ITAD Warehouse Operations & Processing
- Receiving & Booking In: Unload collection vehicles and securely intake assets into the warehouse. Accurately scan and log serial numbers, asset tags, and hardware specifications into the ITAD inventory tracking system.
- Data Destruction Assistance: Support the data erasure team by preparing assets for secure software wiping or physical destruction (shredding/degaussing) in compliance with industry standards.
- Asset Triage & Refurbishment: Sort incoming equipment based on condition for potential refurbishment, component harvesting, or environmental recycling.
- Equipment Handling: Safely operate warehouse machinery, including Counterbalance or Reach forklifts and manual pallet jacks, to stack, move, and organize electronics pallets.
Compliance, Health & Safety
- Data Security: Adhere strictly to GDPR, data protection policies, and facility security regulations to prevent any unauthorized data exposure or asset loss.
- Environmental Regulations: Properly segregate and handle hazardous electronic waste (WEEE regulations) to maximize green recycling and minimize environmental impact.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a highly organized, clean, and safe working environment within the secure ITAD warehouse processing bays.

Candidate Requirements:
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Driving License: A full, clean driving license (with a valid record suitable for commercial transit, 3.5-tonne vehicles would be beneficial but not essential).
- Warehouse Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Forklift Certification: A valid, accredited Counterbalance forklift license.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to handle physical labor, including heavy lifting, loading/unloading bulk IT equipment, and manual handling of secure cages.
- Tech Literacy: Comfortable using computers, handheld barcode scanners, and inventory software to record asset metrics accurately.
- Must hold the rights to work in the UK and pass mandatory Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), prior to commencing work.
Desirable Attributes:
- Prior experience specifically within an ITAD, e-waste, or electronics refurbishment setting.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware components (RAM, Hard Drives, CPUs).
- Strong attention to detail with an absolute commitment to data security and compliance.
- Excellent communication and professional presentation for client-facing tasks.
Working Conditions & Benefits
- Hours: Full-time, standard day shifts (e.g., Monday to Friday 8.30-16.30), with flexibility required for early collection runs and the occasional weekend.
- Environment: Split between corporate client offices/loading docks and a secure, regulated warehouse.
