Multi-Skilled Engineer | Doncaster | Up to £43,900 + Overtime | Days & Nights Rotation | No Weekends

Meridian Business Support are recruiting for a Multi Skilled Engineer to join a growing organisation within their manufacturing operation in Doncaster. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance engineer to join a leading global manufacturer. The role is ideally suited to candidates with experience in manufacturing, production, extrusion, injection moulding or automated environments who are looking for a long-term engineering career.

As a Multi Skilled Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining plant equipment through both reactive and planned maintenance activities, ensuring maximum equipment availability and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

Your duties will include:

  • Carrying out reactive maintenance activities to minimise downtime and maintain production performance
  • Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules across manufacturing equipment and machinery
  • Diagnosing and rectifying electrical and mechanical faults using effective fault-finding techniques
  • Supporting continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency
  • Conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurring issues
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records and engineering documentation
  • Supporting the implementation of safe working practices in line with company procedures and legislation
  • Assisting with engineering projects and equipment upgrades across the site
  • Supporting Lead Engineers with workplace organisation and engineering standards
  • Mentoring engineering apprentices within the maintenance department
  • Attending daily engineering meetings, weekly RCA reviews and monthly energy meetings

To be considered for this Multi Skilled Engineer role, you will need:

  • Previous experience as a qualified Engineer, preferably with a mechanical bias within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of automated assembly systems, extrusion or injection moulding
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and engineering best practices

Qualifications:

  • ONC qualified and/or Apprentice Trained Engineer (essential)
  • HNC qualification in an Engineering discipline (desirable)

Shift Pattern

This role operates on a 3-week rotating pattern of 12-hour day and night shifts:

  • Week 1: Monday & Tuesday Days, Thursday & Friday Nights
  • Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday & Friday Days
  • Week 3: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday Nights
