Astute’s Renewables Team is partnering with a well-established and respected food manufacturer, supplying high-quality bakery products across the UK and European markets. With a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and its people, we are looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their Pulborough site.
Role Overview
The Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer role comes with a salary of up to £46,000 depending on experience, working a shift rotation of 0700 – 1900 4on/4off. Plus, company benefits and free onsite parking.

Responsibilities and Duties
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will:

- Complete PPM and reactive breakdown maintenance on manufacturing/industrial/FMCG machinery to maximize equipment performance.
- Conduct electrical fault-finding with quick response and rectification.
- Perform activities on 3-phase and single-phase power.
- Perform activities on motors, pumps, metal detectors, flow wrappers, ultrasonic utters, and packaging equipment, etc.
- Other duties as required.
Professional Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Time served, or engineering qualifications.
- 17th/18th edition wiring regulations.
- Previous experience maintaining industrial machinery, ideally within FMCG.
- Experience with welding is desirable.
Personal Skills
The Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer role would suit someone who is:
- Knowledgeable of both electrical and mechanical duties, with a bias to electrical.
- Hands-on and enjoys getting stuck in.
