Salary: £53,310.40 per annum
Shift Pattern: Monday–Friday, 4:30pm–1:00am
Location: Lancashire
I’m currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a well-established and growing food manufacturing business in Lancashire.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to join a business with exciting expansion plans and play a key role in maintaining and improving a busy manufacturing operation.
The Role
As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of production equipment, carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance and minimising downtime across the site.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across a range of production and packaging equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults quickly and effectively to minimise production downtime.
- Support production teams to maximise line availability, efficiency and output.
- Identify recurring machinery faults and proactively implement solutions to improve reliability.
- Maintain accurate records of breakdowns, maintenance activities and PPMs.
- Support machinery upgrades, improvement projects and wider site development.
- Manage spare parts requirements and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Carry out general building and ancillary maintenance where required.
- Communicate technical issues effectively with production and other departments.
- Work to strict food safety, hygiene, health & safety and GMP standards.

About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- A recognised Level 3 engineering qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Strong experience in both electrical and mechanical fault finding and maintenance.
- Previous experience within a food manufacturing, FMCG or similar fast-paced production environment.
- Good knowledge of machinery safety, isolation procedures and LOTO.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations where applicable.
- A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- The ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
- Experience with PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, welding/fabrication, refrigeration, compressed air or other site services would be advantageous.
