We're seeking a proactive and customer-focused Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join our team delivering facilities management services at the Basingstoke Council Offices. This role offers a great mix of planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, fault finding, minor project work, and opportunities to contribute to service improvements across a prestigious local authority contract.

The Role
As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the site.
- Diagnose faults and undertake repairs on electrical and building services systems.
- Perform statutory inspections, testing and maintenance activities.
- Deliver minor electrical installation and improvement works.
- Support the delivery of small projects and lifecycle works.
- Monitor plant performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Supervise specialist subcontractors and ensure works are completed safely and to a high standard.
- Manage permits to work and ensure site compliance procedures are followed.
- Complete maintenance records and CAFM tasks accurately and on time.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with the client and building occupants.
- Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota.
- Support wider engineering activities when required.
About You
You'll be a practical problem solver who takes pride in their work and enjoys working as part of a professional team.
Essential
- Recognised qualification such as electrical (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
- Experience in commercial building maintenance or facilities management.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience working on electrical systems and building services plant.
- Good understanding of health and safety legislation and safe systems of work.
- Experience using CAFM systems.
- Competent with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Full UK driving licence.

Desirable
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations or working towards.
- Inspection and Testing qualification.
- Mechanical building services knowledge.
- Experience managing subcontractors and permit systems.
