Job Title: Multiskilled Engineer

Location: Ruskington Site

About the Role

We are currently recruiting a Multiskilled Engineer for our Ruskington site. To provide technical support in the correction, prevention and elimination of technical problems for the site. To work with production during factory start up.

Responsibilities

  • Health, Safety, Environment, and Hygiene Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies.
  • Equipment Management: Manage and close out all equipment failures, work orders, and PPM jobs.
  • Data Entry: Enter data on Holistech for all parts used and jobs raised and completed.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness of all workshop areas and ensure the department is audit-ready at all times.
  • Engineering Procedures: Follow your own engineering handback procedures.
  • Quality and Food Safety: Ensure all work is carried out to specification and that food safety standards are met.
  • Target Achievement: Meet targets using appropriate technical support.
  • Teamwork: Demonstrate a clear teamwork ethos with the Engineering department and across other departments.
  • Timekeeping and Attendance: Maintain excellent timekeeping, attendance, and adherence to company procedures.
  • Communication: Choose the most appropriate method and tools for communication.
  • Issue Resolution: Respond promptly and effectively to minimize downtime and quality/efficiency problems.
  • Department Participation: Participate constructively, keeping everyone informed and sharing knowledge and expertise.
  • Risk Assessment: Understand and contribute using risk assessment techniques to ensure safety.
  • Behavioral Awareness: Support a culture that enhances behavioral awareness of quality, safety, and the environment.
  • Safety Principles: Demonstrate good behavioral and safety principles in all activities.
  • Cost Reduction: Continually strive to reduce costs while minimizing production downtime.
  • Adaptability: Be adaptable to any shift pattern that the company deems necessary for the business.

Essential Criteria

  • Qualifications: Recognised qualification for mechanical and electrical engineering.
  • Experience: Technical Hands-On Engineering Experience, preferably through a recognised time-served apprenticeship within food manufacturing.
  • Technical Skills: Technical qualifications and competence in mechanical/electrical.
  • Certificate: BTEC Engineering certificate/equivalent qualification.
  • Knowledge: Broad knowledge of Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Mechanical, Electrical & PLC/Inverter Assets.
  • Diagnosis and Fault Finding: Skills and capability to logically diagnose and fault find on a variety of equipment/situations.
  • Safe Working Practices: Strong experience in ensuring safe working and safe systems of work is utilized and followed.
  • Risk Assessment: Experience of risk assessing maintenance activity and controlling safe working practices.
  • High Hazard Equipment: Experience of working on high hazard equipment & competent in undertaking safe isolation.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong evidence of good interpersonal, communications, and customer engagement skills.
  • Priority Clarification: Specific experience of clarifying priorities to customers in a busy environment.
  • Team Engagement: Proven ability to get the best from a diverse team through a calm and clear approach.
  • Production Engagement: Ability to engage positively with production to ensure equipment release for maintenance.
  • Lean and Asset Care: Experience and knowledge of Lean and Asset Care Excellence techniques.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Experience of Root cause analysis activities.

Desirable Criteria

  • Total Productive Maintenance: Specific experience of Total Productive Maintenance or ‘Operator-Led’ Asset Care.
  • Statutory Compliance: Knowledge of Statutory Compliance obligations - particularly high-risk utilities topics.
  • CMMS: Knowledge and use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Microsoft Office: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
  • PLC Programming: Ability to interrogate and program PLCs.
  • OEM Supplier Collaboration: Experience of working with OEM suppliers to drive improve machine performance/reduce costs.
  • HACCP System: Knowledge of H.A.C.C.P. System.
  • Mentoring: Proven track record of mentoring within an engineering team.
