Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias)
Location: Bridgend, Wales
Salary: £45,657 P/A
Hours: 40 hrs per week, Monday - Friday
Shift Rotation Pattern
- Week 1: Mon – Fri 6am – 2pm
- Week 2: Mon – Fri 2pm – 10pm
- Week 3: Mon – Thurs 8pm – 6am

We’re recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Bridgend. This is a great opportunity to join the Marshalls family and develop your skills whilst undertaking engineering maintenance tasks and ensuring a proactive approach to prevent equipment failure.
What's the Mission?
Working as part of our highly skilled Engineering team, you will ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment.
- Work on various different types of equipment including complex hydraulic, pneumatic, batching/mixing plant, conveyors, and electrical/electronic control systems.
- Responsible for carrying out a range of planned and reactive engineering activities on site.
- Contribute to the overall safe operation of plant and equipment, safety, quality, waste, and OEE targets.
What Are the Mission-Critical Skills?
- Strong Mechanical Engineering Skills/qualifications
- Electrical working knowledge and experience/qualifications would be an advantage.
- Time served/apprentice trained in a similar position, with recognised Mechanical / Electrical qualifications.
- Good understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues and knowledge of regulatory requirements.
- Experience, understanding, and knowledge of the maintenance of a high-volume manufacturing plant and equipment. Including systems controlling hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors (belts, chain, rollers, bearings, gear boxes, motors, etc.), and able to read technical drawings.
- Experience/Knowledge in electrical fault finding, defect rectification, and PLC knowledge desirable.
- Knowledge of CMMS/Computerised Maintenance Systems.
- Ability to interrogate/understand maintenance problems to provide accurate plant condition information/recommendations including route cause analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, dealing with operatives, Team leaders from both maintenance and production.
- Experience using condition monitoring techniques such as vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound, or oil analysis would be advantageous.
- Welding and fabrication experience would be beneficial.
