Company Description

WCC Group is a contractor serving the defence and security industry, delivering a wide range of projects in demanding environments. The company undertakes civil engineering works, grounds maintenance, and specialist rope access services. WCC Group also provides access products that enable safe and secure access to security fencing and related infrastructure. Team members work on varied, practical projects where safety, reliability, and high-quality workmanship are essential for clients operating in sensitive sectors.

Role Description

Your role will vary day-to-day and you will be expected to carry out labouring duties outside of plant operations. The following types of work can be expected to make up your role:

  • Groundwork; drainage and ducting, concrete, excavations, minor demolitions, facility maintenance, etc.
  • Security fencing works; fence panel repairs, installations, razorwire repairs etc.
  • Ground maintenance; scrub and vegetation clearance, tree removal, culvert/drainage clearing, chemical spraying.

Working away from home may occasionally be required, expenses are paid for when working away.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out general civil engineering, groundwork and infrastructure works.
  • Undertake excavation, trenching, backfilling and ground preparation.
  • Install and maintain drainage, ducting, chambers and associated infrastructure.
  • Carry out concreting, kerbing, paving, tarmac and reinstatement works.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools and small plant safely and competently.
  • Assist with the operation of excavators, dumpers and other site plant where suitably trained.
  • Carry out other task as required when required i.e. Grounds Maintenance works.
  • Read and follow drawings, specifications, RAMS and site instructions.
  • Identify and work safely around underground services.
  • Carry out maintenance, repairs and remedial civil works.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship, housekeeping and site safety.
  • Work closely with supervisors, engineers and other site personnel.
  • Report hazards, defects, incidents and any issues affecting the works.
  • Complete relevant site documentation and daily records.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company health and safety, quality and environmental procedures.

Required

  • Must already hold, or undergo the Security Clearance (SC) process. You have to pass the Security Vetting process as a condition of employment.
  • Abrasive Wheel training.
  • CSCS/CPCS or NPORS card.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Safe use of cable avoidance tools.

Desirable

  • Excavator 360
  • Telescopic Handler
  • Chainsaw Operator - NPTC Certified
  • Woodchipper Operator - NPTC Certified
  • HGV Licence

On-the-job training will be provided.

Hours

  • Monday - Friday 08:00 - 16:30 - 40 hours per week.
  • Paid overtime is available.
  • Rate of Pay is competitive and dependent on experience.
  • Holidays: 28 days per annum.
  • Position: Full-time, permanent.
