Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

We are looking for a proactive and skilled Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring our production operations run efficiently, safely, and with minimal downtime.

Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving factory machinery and equipment, responding to breakdowns, and supporting continuous improvement activities across the site. The successful candidate will help maximise operational performance while contributing to a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on production machinery and equipment.
  • Diagnosing faults quickly and implementing effective solutions to minimise production downtime.
  • Prioritising maintenance activities to support operational requirements and meet production targets.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, reliability, and performance.
  • Participating in engineering projects, including the design, modification, and fabrication of equipment where required.
  • Assisting with the management of engineering stores, maintaining appropriate stock levels of critical spare parts.
  • Ordering equipment and replacement components as required.
  • Providing technical advice and support to third-party sites and contractors when necessary.
  • Coaching and sharing knowledge with colleagues to strengthen team capability and encourage best practice.
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, hygiene, and health & safety at all times.
  • Supporting site operations and providing leadership cover in the absence of the Engineering Manager or Team Leader when required.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience within a maintenance engineering role in a manufacturing, production, food processing, or similar environment.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills across mechanical and/or electrical systems.
  • Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe working practices.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications are desirable.

Shifts:

  • 6:00am to 14:30 & 9:30am to 18:00 Monday to Friday
  • Weekends 7:00 to 15:30 Saturday & Sunday together - 1 in 3 rotation.
