Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £50,000
Location: Kent
Shift Pattern: 4-Week Rotating Rota | 40 Hours Per Week

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established FMCG manufacturing business based in Kent.

This is a varied engineering position within a fast-paced production environment, where you will be responsible for maintaining and improving a range of production machinery and equipment, ensuring maximum plant availability and minimising downtime.

The Role

Working as part of the engineering team, you will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across production machinery and equipment.
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Supporting continuous improvement and machinery reliability.
  • Responding quickly to breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
  • Completing preventative maintenance and engineering documentation.
  • Working closely with production and other departments to maintain efficient plant operation.
  • Maintaining high standards of health, safety and engineering compliance.

Shift Pattern

The role operates on a 4-week rotating rota, working 40 hours per week:

  • Week 1: Monday-Friday, 5:30am-2:00pm
  • Week 2: Monday-Friday, 1:30pm-10:00pm
  • Week 3: 5:30am-2:00pm, with Thursday & Friday off and weekend working
  • Week 4: Monday-Friday, 1:30pm-10:00pm

About You

Essential:

  • Previous experience as a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer or similar.
  • Strong FMCG/manufacturing experience.
  • Confident fault-finding across mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Comfortable working within a fast-paced production environment.
  • Flexible approach to shift working.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience within the food manufacturing sector.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications such as NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent.
