We are currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join a well-established food manufacturing business based in St Austell. This is a great opportunity for an engineer with strong Multivac packaging machinery experience to join a stable team working day shifts, supporting the reliability and performance of key production equipment.

The Role

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining production equipment through both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs, ensuring minimal downtime and supporting continuous improvement across the site.

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
  • Provide specialist technical support for Multivac packaging machinery, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
  • Diagnose faults quickly and carry out effective repairs to restore production operations.
  • Maintain and support industrial refrigeration systems, including ammonia plant equipment where required.
  • Ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently to meet production and quality standards.
  • Support the installation, commissioning, and testing of new equipment and machinery.
  • Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems across production lines.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND in Mechanical, Electrical, or Multi-Skilled Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Essential: Proven experience maintaining and repairing Multivac packaging machinery.
  • Experience within FMCG or food manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems or industrial refrigeration.
  • Experience with production machinery, conveyors, packaging equipment, and automated systems.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
