Job summary
The Multiskilled Technician will be responsible for providing a wide range of maintenance and repair services across our commercial real estate portfolio under a Hard FM contract. This role requires a proactive and adaptable individual with a strong understanding of various building systems and the ability to perform tasks across multiple disciplines, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the properties.
Authority
To work closely with Technical Supervisors, Financial Administrator, Service Desk Coordinator, and Senior Technical Services Manager. To work within established Untitled Projects policies and procedures and operational schedules.
Main Duties
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance:
- Carry out basic electrical tasks such as lamp replacements, socket repairs, and PAT testing (if qualified).
- Assist qualified electricians with more complex electrical works.
- Undertake basic fault finding on lighting and power circuits.
- Ensure emergency lighting systems are functional through regular checks.
Mechanical Maintenance:
- Carry out basic maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), including filter changes, belt adjustments, and minor component replacements under supervision.
- Assist with the monitoring and logging of building plant and equipment readings.
- Undertake basic plumbing tasks such as unblocking drains, repairing minor leaks, and tap maintenance.
- Perform routine checks on pumps, valves, and other mechanical equipment.

Fabric Maintenance:
- Perform general building repairs including basic carpentry, door repairs (ironmongery), painting and decorating, and floor and ceiling repairs.
- Carry out minor repairs to fixtures and fittings.
- Ensure the general upkeep and presentation of the properties is maintained.
Reactive Maintenance:
- Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests, diagnose issues, and carry out necessary repairs to minimise disruption.
- Provide updates on job status to the helpdesk and relevant stakeholders.
Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM):
- Assist in the delivery of the PPM schedule across all disciplines.
- Identify and report any defects or potential issues during PPM activities.
Health and Safety
- To be aware of, and comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act of 1974 and company H&S standards, as applicable to your place of work. This will include awareness of any specific hazards at your workplace.
- To wear protective clothing provided by or recommended by your manager.
- To report any defects in the building plant or equipment according to Untitled Projects Policies.
- To ensure accidents to colleagues or contractors are reported in accordance to Untitled Projects procedures.
- To attend all mandatory Health and Safety training, as deemed necessary by your manager.
- To be fully conversant with and abide by the rules concerning fire, health and safety.
- To attend any H&S courses as deemed necessary by Untitled Projects.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Level 3 C&G 2365 electrical installation or equivalent.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrable experience (typically 5+ years) in a building maintenance or multiskilled technician role, preferably within a commercial property environment.
- Good working knowledge of general building maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and fabric disciplines.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to building maintenance.
- Full UK Driving Licence (may be required for mobile roles).

Desirable
- Relevant trade qualifications or certifications (e.g., basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
- PASMA or IPAF certification (for working at height).
- Experience working within a Hard FM contract environment.
- Familiarity with using a helpdesk or work order management system (CAFM).
- Basic IT skills.
