Location: Palnure, Newton Stewart

Salary: £48,000 per annum, rising to £50,000 after 12 months
Working Pattern: Alternating weekly — Sun 08:00-16:15, Mon-Thu 12:00–20:15 / Mon–Fri 06:00–14:15
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Holiday: 31 days per year, inclusive of recognised public holidays
Pension: 5% employee / 3% employer contribution (scheme currently under review)
Overtime: £28.00 per hour or time back at x1.5

About Rowan Glen

Rowan Glen is a yogurt producer located on the edge of the Galloway Forest in South-West Scotland. Our site in Palnure, Dumfries & Galloway has been producing yogurt for over 30 years, making it one of Scotland's longest established yogurt manufacturing sites.

Rowan Glen is currently entering an exciting period of growth, with investment in our production facilities and expansion of our product range.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with FMCG experience to join and strengthen our engineering team.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will provide hands-on engineering support across the site working closely with production and other departments. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maximise plant availability and improve equipment reliability
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs and inspections for compliance and continuous improvement purposes.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, quality and engineering practice, while contributing to improvements in preventative maintenance, reliability and the continued development of the site.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • A recognised engineering qualification (NVQ / HNC) or equivalent experience
  • Experience maintaining automated production or packaging machinery
  • Experience in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) manufacturing environment

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience in dairy, chilled food or high-care manufacturing
  • 17th/18th Edition electrical qualification
  • Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs)

What We Offer

  • £48,000 starting salary, rising to £50,000 after 12 months
  • Permanent, full-time position
  • Dayshift working pattern with no routine night shifts
  • 31 days' annual leave, inclusive of recognised public holidays
  • Workplace pension - 5% employee contribution and 3% employer contribution, currently under review
  • Overtime paid at £28.00 per hour or time back at x1.5
