Keep Our Manufacturing Operation Moving

Are you a skilled engineer who thrives on solving problems, driving improvements, and making a real impact on production performance?

At Lorient Polyproducts, we're looking for a proactive and hands-on Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team in Newton Abbot. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where no two days are the same.

From responding to breakdowns and carrying out preventative maintenance through to supporting automation, continuous improvement projects, and mentoring the next generation of engineers, you'll play a critical role in keeping our operation running safely and efficiently.

What You'll Be Doing

As a key member of the Engineering Team, you will:

  • Deliver swift and effective electrical, mechanical and pneumatic breakdown support
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities using our CMMS system
  • Support equipment installations, commissioning, upgrades and factory improvement projects
  • Drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Assist with new product introductions and factory layout changes
  • Source and manage spare parts to ensure production continuity
  • Liaise with specialist contractors and service providers
  • Mentor and support engineering apprentices
  • Use machine tools to support manufacturing requirements
  • Complete accurate maintenance records and work orders
  • Always champion the highest standards of health, safety and compliance

What We're Looking For

We're seeking an engineer who is:

  • Multi-skilled with strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding abilities
  • Passionate about continuous improvement
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Safety-focused with a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Organised and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Keen to share knowledge and support colleague development

Manufacturing experience and a strong engineering background are highly desirable.
