Mill Maintenance Engineer

Do not pass up this chance, apply quickly if your experience and skills match what is in the following description.

Wynnstay Group is seeking a skilled and proactive Mill Maintenance Engineer to support the safe, efficient and reliable operation of our animal feed manufacturing facility.

Reporting to the Mill Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining plant availability through a combination of reactive breakdown support, planned preventative maintenance and continuous improvement activities. Working across both mechanical and electrical systems, you will help ensure production equipment operates safely and efficiently while meeting quality, compliance and operational standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced multi-skilled engineer looking to develop their career within a well-established organisation in the agricultural sector. The role offers a varied and hands-on environment, working with modern automated plant and equipment while contributing directly to the production of high-quality animal feed.

Responsibilities

  • Respond quickly and effectively to mechanical and electrical breakdowns to minimise downtime and support production targets
  • Carry out fault finding, repairs and maintenance on a wide range of manufacturing and milling equipment
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities to ensure equipment reliability and performance
  • Conduct routine inspections and identify defects, escalating issues where appropriate
  • Support the safe operation and restart of automated and PLC-controlled plant and equipment
  • Work in accordance with all Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality standards, including HACCP, COSHH, UFAS and VMD requirements
  • Carry out equipment isolation and lock-off procedures safely and work within permit-to-work systems
  • Assist production teams to ensure efficient site operations and plant performance
  • Manage and supervise contractors working on site in line with company procedures
  • Participate in the on-call rota, responding to out-of-hours breakdowns and emergency maintenance requirements
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and provide clear communication during shift handovers

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
