Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician Required - Manchester - Full Time

Our client is a well-established industrial packaging manufacturer, specialising in bespoke packaging solutions for customers across a range of industries.

On behalf of our client, we are looking to recruit a Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician to support the ongoing maintenance and reliability of production equipment and site facilities. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with a strong practical background who can confidently maintain, repair, and improve mechanical and electrical systems within a busy manufacturing environment.

  • Full time, permanent position
  • Competitive salary (dependent on experience)

Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician - Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain mechanical and electrical systems in line with health and safety standards
  • Carry out maintenance of site electrical systems including replacing light bulbs, sockets, and basic installations
  • Maintain mechanical equipment including high-pressure pumps, conveyors, shredders, and production machinery
  • Assist with the installation and setup of new production systems and equipment
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance activities to an agreed schedule
  • Support budget preparation and ensure maintenance costs are effectively managed
  • Manage tools and equipment, ensuring they are maintained and available when required
  • Maintain the general site condition and ensure facilities remain safe, functional, and well presented

Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician - Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician
  • Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
  • PLC knowledge would be advantageous
  • Strong understanding of general maintenance processes and methods
  • Competent using common tools, equipment, and machinery within a manufacturing environment
  • Good problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to fault finding
  • Physically fit, reliable, and flexible with availability for overtime
  • Basic MIG welding skills
  • Willingness to learn and think creatively when solving problems
