# Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician (Role ID: SF19231)

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician across our BUTEC (Kyle of Lochalsh) and Applecross sites, you’ll support cutting-edge defence technology while collaborating with top experts in critical missions like submarine assessments and underwater systems.
About the Role
Working within UK Defence Operations’s Estates Delivery discipline, your role is to deliver high-quality Estates Maintenance Services through planned or ad-hoc activities. Your expertise spans:
- Building fabric maintenance (e.g., ceiling repairs, blind installations, locks, drains, decorative work)
- PAT Testing
- L8 Water Flushing
- Resolving queries independently before escalating
Responsibilities
- Autonomous Work: Maintain high-quality services within defined procedures with moderate supervision.
- Problem-Solving: Tackle recurring queries while escalating complex issues to senior colleagues.
- Customer Service: Uphold professional standards—receive communications accurately and relay them promptly.
- Continuous Improvement: Spot opportunities for process enhancements and support team-wide initiatives.
- **On-Call Coverage:**As part of your responsibilities, you may be required to cover shifts outside normal-hours.
- Professional Growth: Develop technical/operational skills via training or work-based projects.

Essential Experience & Skills
✔ Multi-Skilled Maintenance: Proven experience in:
- Site services, plant maintenance, and facilities
- Building fabric systems (e.g., M&E, decorating)
- Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance
- Quality control to meet rigorous maintenance standards
✔ Asset Management: Track equipment availability; recommend improvements to leadership. ✔ IT Proficiency: Microsoft Office and other relevant applications.
Requirements
📌 Qualifications:
- Level 3 NVQ (or equitable experience) in a practical trade.
- Full UK driving licence (essential for travel).

Location & Commitment
- St elevation: 37-hour weeks across Kyle of Lochalsh and Applecross sites.
- Travel Required: Occasional assignments at other QinetiQ/customer sites.
