Multi-Skilled Mechanical Engineer

Location: Kendal, Cumbria

We are seeking a motivated Multi-Skilled Mechanical Engineer to join a leading manufacturing business in Kendal. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving a wide range of manufacturing machinery and site equipment to ensure maximum reliability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical faults.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records using the CMMS system.

Requirements

  • Relevant engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience within a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic electrical knowledge; PLC fault-finding experience would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible and proactive approach to maintenance activities.
