Multi Skilled Operative
Hourly Rate – £14.96 per hour plus benefits
Hours – 45 hours per week
Location & Postcode – Winterton Landfill, DN15 9AP
As a Multi Skilled Operative at FCC Environment, you will provide a helpful, courteous and professional service to FCC customers, while supporting the safe and efficient running of site operations.
You will be expected to carry out a variety of operational duties, including operating mobile plant when required, supporting weighbridge activities, assisting site users and customers, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with FCC procedures.
This vacancy is for a full-time position, working five days per week.

What will you be doing?
- Ensuring all site users follow FCC Health and Safety procedures
- Operating mobile plant safely and in line with instructions, procedures and codes of practice
- Supporting the safe and efficient acceptance of asbestos and other hazardous waste
- Providing weighbridge cover when required, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner
- Assisting customers and site users, including directing vehicles and reminding customers to wear PPE
- Issuing site user and visitor rules, and recording these where required
- Controlling site users, visitors and contractors through the weighbridge and visitor book
- Reporting breaches of user rules or safety instructions through FCC procedures
- Assisting other site staff with duties relating to site activities
- Completing accurate records of tasks completed and resources used
- Carrying out maintenance and repair work across operational landfill sites when required
- Undertaking any other reasonable tasks required by the company
What are we looking for?
- Spoken and written English to GCSE standard
- Experience in a customer-facing role
- Ability to use IT systems such as Microsoft Office and Excel
- Tractor licence
- Excavator licence
- A commitment to health and safety
- Ability to work alone and stay self-motivated
- Willingness to take on varied tasks at short notice
- Strong punctuality and reliability
- Commitment and determination to meet personal objectives
- A positive, flexible and proactive approach to work
