There is an exciting opportunity to join Bellway, one of the UK's largest house builders. Our Manchester division is looking to recruit a Multi Skilled Operative to join the Division's Construction team.
Role
The role of Multi Skilled Operative is responsible for ensuring new homes are completed to the highest quality standards prior to customer handover. The role focuses on identifying, rectifying, and closing out defects, carrying out finishing works, and supporting site teams to deliver a first-class customer experience.
Principal Accountabilities
- Carry out snagging inspections of completed and near-complete homes.
- Identify defects, quality issues and incomplete works against company standards and NHBC requirements.
- Undertake a wide range of remedial and finishing works including:
- Basic joinery and carpentry
- Decorating and paint touch-ups
- Minor plaster repairs
- Basic plumbing adjustments
- Basic maintenance and repair works
- Ensure plots are fully prepared and presented for customer demonstrations and legal completion.
- Work alongside site management teams, subcontractors and Customer Care teams to ensure all defects are rectified promptly.
- Complete customer care remedial works where required following occupation.
- Maintain accurate records of snagging items and completed works.
- Monitor the quality of subcontractor workmanship and report recurring issues to site management.
- Assist with health and safety inspections and ensure all works are completed in accordance with site rules and company procedures.
- Support the delivery of excellent customer satisfaction scores through high-quality workmanship and attention to detail.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and tidy condition.

Experience
- Experience within residential housebuilding, construction finishing, or property maintenance.
- Multi-trade skills covering several of the following:
- Joinery
- Decorating
- Plaster patching
- Basic plumbing
- General repairs
- Previous experience in a dedicated snagging, finishing foreman or customer care operative role is desirable.
- NHBC Knowledge and understanding of housebuilding quality standards is desirable.
Qualifications And Training
- First Aid Qualification is desirable.
- CSCS card.
- Full UK driving licence.
Skills And Aptitude
- Ability to identify construction defects and quality issues.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high standards.
- Ability to work independently and manage own workload.
