James Kemball, part of the GB Global Group is seeking a reliable and proactive Multi-Skilled Operative to join our container depot operation in Felixstowe.
This is a hands-on role responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and handling of containers throughout the depot. The successful candidate will be trained and competent in operating a range of equipment including Reach Stackers, Empty Container Handlers (ECHs), and Forklift Trucks, supporting the day-to-day requirements of the business.
The ideal candidate will have a positive "can-do" attitude, be safety-conscious, and be willing to undertake a variety of operational tasks to support depot efficiency and customer service standards.

Hours: Day Shift
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate Reach Stackers, Empty Container Handlers, and Forklift Trucks.
- Load, unload, stack, and move containers throughout the depot.
- Carry out container positioning to support depot and customer requirements.
- Assist with receiving and dispatching containers.
- Perform daily equipment safety checks and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
- Ensure all container moves and operational activities are accurately recorded within depot systems.
- Work closely with depot supervisors and operational teams to meet daily productivity targets.
- Support container inspections and identify any visible damage or defects.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the depot.
- Comply with all company policies, operational procedures, and health and safety requirements.
- Assist with general depot duties as required.
- Build positive working relationships with colleagues, customers, drivers, and contractors on site.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and customer service.

Skills & Experience:
Essential
- Previous experience operating heavy plant or material handling equipment.
- Strong awareness of health and safety requirements within an operational environment.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Flexible approach to work and changing operational priorities.
Desirable

- Reach Stacker operating experience.
- Empty Container Handler (ECH) operating experience.
- Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence.
- Previous experience within a container depot, port, logistics, or transport environment.
- Knowledge of container handling and depot operations.
