Who we are

VIVO provides facilities management and accommodation maintenance for the UK military and its partners. VIVO embodies both experience and innovation.

What we do

We put our Customers and Families First. They are the driving force behind everything we do. We drive forward improvements for them to ensure the service they receive, whether reactive repairs or a major project, is completed safely and on time. In order to achieve this, we have 4 core values: open, caring, agile and collaborative. These are at the heart of everything we do.

Contract: Permanent

Location: RAF Boulmer, supporting Albermerle

Salary: £30,000–£32,000 per annum

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 08:00–16:30 and Friday 08:00–15:30

Are you a practical, proactive individual who enjoys solving problems, working with people and seeing the results of your work? VIVO is looking for a Multi-Skilled Operative to join our team at RAF Boulmer, supporting the delivery of high-quality maintenance and facilities services across the Defence estate.

This is an exciting new role within the FDIS contract and an opportunity to become the dedicated Multi-Skilled Operative for the Service Delivery Area. You will work independently across commercial buildings, spending three days each week at RAF Boulmer and two days at Albermerle, providing a flexible and responsive maintenance service across both locations.

The role will involve a strong focus on planned preventative maintenance, alongside reactive and planned maintenance activities across the estate. You will receive jobs directly through a PDA, with work allocated by the scheduling team, giving you the opportunity to manage your workload and deliver tasks efficiently. You will work closely with Building Custodians, building users and wider VIVO teams to understand requirements, resolve issues and ensure work is completed to a high standard.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You will undertake a diverse range of hands-on tasks, including redecoration, changing locks, installing noticeboards, carrying out first-response and temporary fixes, supporting surveys and data gathering, and assisting with assurance checks. You will also assess the materials and equipment required for works and arrange access with end users to ensure work can be completed safely and efficiently.

What you’ll need

We are particularly interested in candidates with mechanical or electrical knowledge who can bring a broad practical skill set to the role. You will need experience of planned and reactive maintenance and be confident working independently, identifying practical solutions and managing a varied workload across multiple commercial buildings. A practical qualification such as City & Guilds or BTEC would be advantageous.

Customer service will remain central to the role, with regular interaction with Building Custodians and other stakeholders. You will be expected to take ownership of your work, maintain high standards and support VIVO’s commitment to Zero Harm, statutory compliance, first-time fixes and excellent service delivery.

As this is a new role, there is also a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills through training. Depending on requirements, this could include an NVQ Level 2 in Building Maintenance, IPAF, PASMA, PAT and Legionella Responsible Person training, with further training in AHU maintenance also being considered.
