Multi Skilled Services Engineer (Plumber)
Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a skilled and motivated Multi Skilled Services Engineer (Plumber) to join our Estates and Facilities team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in maintaining the engineering infrastructure that supports the delivery of outstanding patient care across our hospital sites.
About the Role
The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive plumbing and mechanical maintenance service, carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, fault finding, testing, inspections, and installation work across a diverse healthcare estate. Working on a range of systems including domestic water services, pumps, pipework, sanitary systems, and mechanical plant, you will help ensure that essential services remain safe, reliable, and fully operational.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, effective, and compliant mechanical maintenance services across the Trust.
- Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with statutory regulations, HTMs, British Standards, and Trust policies.
- Manage planned and reactive maintenance through the CAFM system.
- Maintain accurate records, support audits and compliance activities.
- Contribute to the safe operation of critical engineering systems.
- Monitor performance, support continuous service improvements.
- Participate in training and professional development.
- Promote high standards of health, safety, governance, and risk management.
- Support budgetary control through efficient use of resources.
- Liaise with contractors and stakeholders.
- Participate in the on-call rota.
- Work flexibly across Trust sites as a multi-skilled technician to ensure the delivery of reliable, patient-focused Estates services.
