Role: Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer
Location: Deeside
Shift: 4 on 4 off shift (12-hour shifts 2days/2 nights)
Salary: £51,250 per annum

Are you a hands-on engineer who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We are looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our client's FMCG engineering team and play a key role in keeping our production facility running efficiently, safely, and reliably.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with modern automated equipment within a continuous manufacturing environment, where your technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and proactive mindset will directly contribute to operational performance.
As a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving a wide range of process, packaging, and site equipment. Working both independently and as part of a skilled engineering team, you will help ensure minimal downtime and maximum production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned, predictive, and reactive maintenance across production and site equipment
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults on processing machinery, packaging equipment, and utilities
- Respond quickly to breakdowns and equipment failures to minimise disruption to production
- Support the installation, commissioning, and repair of plant machinery and facilities
- Perform workshop duties, including machine repairs and component fabrication
- Assist manufacturing teams with line adjustments, changeovers, and technical support
- Identify and implement engineering improvements to increase efficiency and reduce downtime
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation and maintenance records
- Work collaboratively with external contractors and engineering partners on site projects
- Train and support colleagues on the safe use and maintenance of equipment
The Person
- Engineering qualification such as HNC or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical, Mechanical, or Multi-Skilled Engineering
- Experience working in a high-speed automated manufacturing environment (ideally FMCG or food production)
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills across electrical and mechanical systems
- Experience with automated machinery, packaging equipment, and site services
- Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively
- Strong commitment to health and safety

Desirable:
- Experience with integrated control systems
- Knowledge of automatic packaging and palletising systems
- Familiarity with AC drives and/or servo drive systems
