Are you an experienced vocational professional with a passion for developing others? Whether your background is in construction, carpentry, plumbing, painting and decorating, maintenance, engineering, facilities management, warehousing, or another practical trade, we want to hear from you.

We're looking for a Vocational Multi-Skills Tutor to deliver engaging, hands-on training programmes that equip learners with practical skills, recognised qualifications, and the confidence to progress into employment or further training.

This is an opportunity to combine your industry expertise with teaching and mentoring, helping individuals develop valuable trade skills and positive workplace behaviours that can transform future opportunities.

If you're new to teaching, support and training can be provided to help you develop your instructional skills.

About the Role

As a Vocational Multi-Skills Tutor, you will design and deliver practical learning sessions across a range of vocational disciplines, creating an engaging and supportive environment where learners can develop industry-relevant skills and achieve recognised qualifications.

Training may include areas such as:

  • Construction multi-Skills
  • Carpentry and Joinery
  • Painting and Decorating
  • Plumbing
  • Construction
  • Warehousing and Logistics
  • Other vocational and trade-related subjects

You will play a key role in supporting learners to build confidence, develop practical competencies, and prepare for successful progression into employment, apprenticeships, or further education.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Deliver engaging practical and classroom-based vocational training sessions.
  • Support learners to develop technical skills across a range of trade disciplines.
  • Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Prepare learners for accredited qualifications and industry standards.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and motivating learning environment.
  • Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Develop lesson plans, learning materials, and practical activities.
  • Maintain accurate learner records, assessment documentation, and progress reports.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and individual support to help learners overcome barriers to learning.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders to support learner success.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in people who have:

  • NVQ level 2/3 in a trade, alongside Math and English.
  • Practical industry experience within construction, or a related vocational sector.
  • A passion for developing others and sharing their knowledge.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to motivate and inspire learners from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience delivering training, coaching, mentoring, or supervising others (desirable but not essential).
  • A recognised teaching or assessing qualification (desirable), or a willingness to work towards one.
  • Relevant vocational qualifications and industry knowledge.
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and learner support.
