At Adur Homes, we are actively investing in our workforce. As part of our exciting service redesign, we are looking for dedicated Multi Trade Operatives to join our team on a permanent basis.
These additional posts sit at the very heart of our service. Working on the front line within our communities, you will interact directly with our residents every day. You will support the Multi Trade Operative Supervisor by undertaking high-quality housing maintenance, repairs, and refurbishment works across tenanted, leasehold, and vacant council-owned properties.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for individuals who are both highly competent tradespeople and compassionate professionals. Our residents are at the centre of everything we do, so your ability to handle situations with empathy, kindness, and understanding is just as important as your technical skill set.
To Be Successful, You Will Need
- Competence & Skill: A City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ, or documented equivalent experience in an appropriate construction trade (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, brickwork, or general maintenance).
- Compassion & Communication: A positive, inclusive attitude towards customers, with a commitment to valuing kindness and compassion in the Workplace.
- Adaptability: A willingness to embrace new ways of working and participate in an out-of-hours duty rota to support our residents when they need us most.
- Requirements: A valid driving licence and a good standard of physical fitness to carry out the required duties.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
