Multi Trade Operative
Join a Growing Property Maintenance Team
Are you a skilled Multi Trade Operative looking for a varied role where no two days are the same? We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused professional to carry out responsive repairs, planned maintenance, void property works, and property inspections across a residential housing portfolio.
The Role
As a Multi Trade Operative, you will deliver high-quality repairs and maintenance across your primary trade while supporting a range of secondary trades when required. You will work independently, managing your workload effectively to ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out day-to-day repairs, maintenance works, void property refurbishments, and property inspections.
- Deliver quality workmanship across your specialist trade and support other trades where required.
- Use handheld devices (PDA/mobile technology) to manage jobs, update records, and complete documentation in real time.
- Order and manage materials efficiently, minimising waste.
- Complete repairs on the first visit wherever possible.
- Conduct risk assessments and work in line with Health & Safety regulations.
- Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicle to the required standards.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain professional communication with residents and stakeholders.
- Attend scheduled appointments and ensure all work is completed to agreed service levels.
- Support and supervise apprentices when required.

What We're Looking For
Essential
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds qualification, or equivalent practical experience in a recognised trade.
- Strong experience within property maintenance, repairs, or construction environments.
- Competence across multiple trades, with a recognised primary trade specialism.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence.

For Electrical Candidates
- 18th Edition qualification.
- City & Guilds 2391 Testing & Inspection qualification.
- Proven experience carrying out electrical repairs and installations in compliance with current regulations.
Desirable
- Current CSCS card.
- Experience working within social housing, housing associations, or residential maintenance contracts.
